Understanding Core Saturation in Common Mode Inductor

It has been shown that some amount of differential flux exits the core from each winding. This leakage flux is proportional to both the line current and leakage inductance of the winding. Because the leakage flux leaves the core and is not canceled, it is then possible to saturate the core under high currents. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the leakage inductance.
