With development of industry, sheet metal parts are used more and more widely in our daily production and life. You can see sheet metal parts in automobiles, machines, and various household appliances such as range hoods, gas stoves, etc. Therefore, it's important to make sheet metal parts with good quality and beautiful appearance. Let's talk about the processing technology of sheet metal parts.
Different blanking methods are selected for sheet metal parts according to different requirements, including laser cutting, CNC ion cutting, shearing machine processing and other different methods. Usually, considering the cost, most of them will be processed by shearing machine. In order to ensure the cutting quality, according to the thickness of the plate, the gap between the blades of the shearing machine should be adjusted. Otherwise, the plate will have burrs. The blade should be regularly sharpened to prolong the service life of the tool. It also ensures shear quality of the sheet.
For CNC ion cutting, general CNC cutting machines need to complete editing and processing of drawing and cutting process before performing cutting. Leave the bow and arrow for a certain distance, pass through a section of cutting line and then enter the contour of the workpiece. This line is usually called cutting lead or lead-in line. Generally speaking, the length of the lead increases with the thickness.
The cut plate needs to be reprocessed. First, it is necessary to write the processing program according to the drawing, and then punch the hole on the CNC punching machine. The CNC punching machine is affected by the cutting tool. For the processing of some special-shaped workpieces and irregular holes. There will be large burrs on the edge. So it is necessary to select a mold with a corresponding gap for processing according to different plate thicknesses. The processed parts need to be deburred later. The punching die used for stainless steel plates has a larger gap than ordinary steel plates of the same thickness, because the hardness of stainless steel is higher than that of ordinary steel plates.
Laser processing has no tool restrictions. The cross section is flat. It is suitable for the processing of special-shaped workpieces, but it takes a long time to process small workpieces. The cost of laser processing is higher than that of CNC punching machines. After the workpiece is blanked, the corners, burrs, and contacts must be trimmed (grinded) as necessary.
After the punching and blanking process is completed, it enters the next process. Different workpieces enter the corresponding process according to the processing requirements. There are bending, pressure riveting, flanging tapping, spot welding, etc.
Sometimes after one or two steps of bending, nuts or studs should be pressed well. Among them, the place where the mold has convex hull and step difference should be processed first to avoid interference will occur after other processes are processed first. So the processing technology of the parts must be determined in advance to avoid unnecessary mistakes.
When pressing riveting, it is necessary to consider the height of the studs and choose the same and different molds, and then adjust the working pressure of the machine to ensure that the studs and the surface of the workpiece are even. If the pressure adjustment is not appropriate, the studs will not be pressed firmly or pressed If it exceeds the surface of the workpiece. The workpiece will be scrapped.

Argon arc welding is suitable for welding non-ferrous metals and alloy steels that are easily oxidized (currently Al, Mg, Ti and their alloys and stainless steel are mainly used for welding). It is suitable for single-sided welding and double-sided forming, mainly used for two large workpieces. When it is to be connected together, or the corner of a workpiece is processed. The surface of the workpiece is flat and smooth.
The heat generated during argon arc welding will deform the workpiece. After welding, it should be processed with a grinder and a flat grinder. Since argon arc welding produces strong light, it is necessary to protect the face to prevent being stabbed by strong light. At the same time, due to the large smoke, it is necessary to strengthen protection. The ozone content generated during welding is relatively high. Therefore, try to choose a place with better air circulation for construction. Otherwise, it causes great harm to the body.
After the surface pretreatment, it enters the spraying process. When the workpiece is sprayed after assembly, the hole on the workpiece is sealed with a paper roll inside the workpiece. It is fixed with a high temperature resistant tape to prevent it from being sprayed inside the workpiece during spraying.
Some large-volume workpieces also use tooling protection. Some workpieces have strict surface quality requirements. They need to be scraped before spraying. When spraying, first hang the workpiece on the assembly line, and use the air pipe to blow off the dust on the surface. After spraying, enter the drying area along the assembly line. Finally remove the sprayed workpiece from the assembly line.
It enters the assembly process after spraying. Before assembly, the protective sticker used in the original spraying should be torn off to make sure that the internal threaded holes of the parts are not sprinkled with paint or powder. During the whole process, gloves should be worn to avoid dust on the hands. On the workpiece, some workpieces have to be blown clean with an air gun.
Every link in the sheet metal processing process is very important. A problem in one link will affect the processing quality of the product. Therefore, the accuracy of each process must be ensured. Only in this way can we make sheet metal parts with exquisite workmanship and qualified quality.
