There are two ways to make prototype for membrane switch.
1. Soft proofing
Soft proofing is done on color monitor. It is undoubtedly the most convenient and efficient way. It requires the color monitor to have high precision and be properly calibrated.
There are some obvious shortcomings. Low resolutionon comes first. Color accuracy depends on the performance and calibration of the monitor. Metallic colors cannot be accurately reflected. It cannot provide a reference for the subsequent production process.
2. Traditional proofing
It is necessary to make film and screen. Then we complete the proofing on the silkscreen printing machine.
The production process of traditional proofing and mass production is the same. They use the same file data. We can find potential problems such as moire, issues of color, text and patterns.
Reasons to make prototype before mass production
1. Check if there is something wrong in the design.
2. Check if the film is bad.
3. Check if there is something wrong on the screen.
4. Check if the presented color is different from the required color, and the degree of the difference.
5. Verify the adhesion and hiding power of ink.
6. Check scientific integrity of the production process.
Two important things when making prototype
1. Material
Do not use bad materials, or materials that do not have the same performance as you need. The performance of many materials is different, so you must pay attention.
2. Color
During screen printing, the color may deviate because the ink is adjusted many times. Take care of it. You don't want chromatic aberration.
Inspection standards for membrane switches
1. Visual inspection
The line spacing should be consistent, and the coating condition should be uniform.
2. Performance test
a. Contact
Check whether the membrane switch has good contact. We try to prevent poor contact, disconnection, short circuit, etc..
b. Electrical performance
We are talking about contact resistance, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, withstand voltage, etc..
c. Loads
Test the electrical performance of the membrane switch under different loads to prevent it from being damaged due to excessive load.
3. Service life
Service life is an important indicator of reliability. Pressing test and environmental test are popular. The pressing test is for service life under normal conditions. The environmental test is for reliability under different environmental conditions.
