CorelDRAW: What Can We Do with It?

CorelDRAW is a set of graphics and image editing software that includes two drawing applications: one for vector graphics and page design, and one for image editing. This set of drawing software combinations provides users with powerful interactive tools, allowing users to create a variety of dynamic special effects and bitmap images. Real-time effects can be achieved in simple operations - without losing the current things.

We can use it in many design fields, such as physical sketching, industrial design, packaging design (food packaging, cosmetic packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, etc.), menu layout, illustration design, invitation design, car body advertising, etc. Let's talk about some of them.

1. Physical sketching

We use CorelDRAW to create a strawberry, which can be very realistic. Whether the leaves or other parts can be designed through this powerful software.

You can create other things. Even the most advanced designers learned from scratch. First of all, you need to understand such things as color, lighting effects, overall shape of graphics, and master some skills. Of course, after a series of systematic training, you can create good things.

2. Industrial design

Now, industrial design. What is it?

In the design of industrial products, for example, when a product, such as a motorcycle has not yet come out, we have to prepare what kind of product it is. We explain whether the current appearance is liked by customers. Of course, the appearance needs to be designed. CorelDRAW can do this job. The overall graphics and some special effects can be drawn by this software.

3. Brochure design

When designing, every visual element in the layout, such as text fonts and sizes, the position of pictures, and the overall color of the layout should be carefully considered. The production requires perfect execution. Try to avoid unnecessary losses caused by omissions in graphics and text. Paid attention to some points when making the original brochure.

Determine the format

It refers to the finished size of the brochure, that is, the size of each P (Page). The commonly used format are 16 pages and 210mm x 285mm.

Set image resolution

To ensure the clear effect of picture output and printing, the resolution of all pictures used in the album should be above 300dpi.

Reserve the bleed

When we plan to place images or color blocks on the edge of page, the printing area needs to be enlarged. The general practice is to leave 3 mm outside the finished product size. The purpose of reserving the bleed is to avoid exposing the background color (white edge) when cutting. Cutting too much will cut off the page content, and make the finished product smaller. So leaving the bleed is the necessary part of making brochures.

Set printing color

CMYK is something about printing color. When making brochures, the image must be set to CMYK color. In addition, the accurate setting requires to check the standard color scale. The setting value cannot be lower than 5%.

Make a craft version

Hot stamping, silver hot stamping, lamination, UV, embossing, debossing and embossing are common techniques. The craftsmanship is mostly used on the front and back covers, and less on the inner pages.

The craftsmanship needs to be produced according to the customer's budget and the designer's overall design concept. Generally, we use one process. One more process plate is required when making the original manuscript.
