The membrane switch uses SMD LED lamps (0603, 0805, 1206). According to the color of the luminous tube, LED can be divided into white light, red, orange, yellow, green (subdivided into yellow-green, standard green and pure green), blue light and so on. In addition, some light-emitting diodes contain chips of two or three colors. LED can work continuously for 50,000 to 80,000 hours, which is more than 10 times the life of traditional fluorescent lamps.

The working current of the LED in the membrane switch is usually below 20mA, and the working current of the low-current LED is below 2mA (the brightness is the same as that of the ordinary LED).

The usual reasons why membrane switch LED does not light up are as followed:

1. The packaging protection of the LED is not perfect, causing the lamp bead to be damaged by impact during transportation.

2. The solder joints of the LED lamps have the phenomenon of virtual soldering, and the vibration during transportation causes the solder joints to fall off and the light strip does not shine.

3. The solder is less than it should be, causing solder joints are easy to fall off.

4. LED lamp welding quality is not good. The solder joints of LED flexible light strips are prone to brittle cracks and fall off during the bending process.

5. When the LED lamp is installed, the bending angle is too large, which causes the solder joint of the LED flexible lamp to separate from the copper foil and causes no light.

6. Excessive squeezing of the product during the installation of the LED lamp, causing damage to the LED flexible lamp strip chip or deformation of the solder joints and falling off.

7. The solder mask of the LED light circuit board is too thick, the solder and the circuit board cannot be completely fused together during soldering. This is also a kind of virtual soldering.

8. The LED light cannot be twisted during installation. If it is twisted, the solder joints of the LED flexible light strip will fall off and cause no light.
