Many instruments are powered by external power sources. If they are powered by AC, they need to add an AC-DC conversion circuit, so the power supply circuit of the meter is often separated from the signal output or input circuit. In a process control system, some instruments supply power to the instrument through its signal output or input loop. Such instruments are called loop powered supply indicators.

Most of the loop powered indicators adopt a compact size and panel-mount design with a high degree of integration.

Whether rectangular or round, the display and buttons are centrally located in the center of the front panel for aesthetic reasons. All parameters of the con-figuration and display can be set to any menu with access protected by password. 

The keys are basically designed in regular shapes such as square and round. As for the kind of embossment, it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
