The ferrograph is used to separate and evaluate wear particles and pollutant particles in lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, coolant or fuel in use. Using the densitometer installed on the ferrograph microscope, the relative content of the large and small abrasive particles on the spectrum can also be quantitatively analyzed, and the computer can also be used to image the wear debris to obtain the relevant parameters of the wear debris.
The ferrograph can be widely used in various industries such as internal combustion engines, gas turbines, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems and other large machines and parts for effective wear detection. Statistics show that the application of ferrograph technology can ensure the safe operation of major equipment , reduce the occurrence of failures, reduce maintenance costs, and have achieved significant economic and social benefits in the field of tribology and lubricant quality assessment research.
